Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh was the first capital of the Nawabs of Awadh. It was under Nawab Shuja Ad Daula (1732-1775) that the town reached its zenith as he constructed several mosques, gardens, palaces and bazaars.
The town is home to several mosques that are identical to each other. All have three have bulbous domes, whitewashed walls and even sometimes even have follow similar design patterns on the stucco work. This is a mosque located in the Moti Bagh area.
